BIO-SEED STARTER
Contains Non-Plant Food
Ingredients Lawn grasses
require a soil microbial system that is primarily bacterial along
with about 10% endo-mycorrhizae. To have strong and quick
establishment, you need to get this biological system up and running
right from the start. At most new installation sites, the soil was
previously agricultural soil where field crops such as corn or
soybeans were grown. These soils are usually 50% bacterial & 50%
fungal in biological make up. In areas where trees dominated, the
soil will be predominant in fungi. These soils are also excessive in
Magnesium, low in Calcium, very high in Potassium and very low in
Phosphorus. This is the ideal condition for weed growth pressure. In
addition, most agricultural soils contain high amounts of long term
carry over grass herbicides such as Atrazine, Bladex and many
others.
Dry Applied Lawn Product -
50 lb. bags
Product Information: In new seedlings,
Phosphorus is absolutely necessary for the development of the root
system. The high phosphate content of conventional seed starter
fertilizers rapidly locks up in the soil as tri-calcium phosphate
and therefore becomes un-available, leaving the new seedlings
deficient of this element that is so necessary for root growth
development.
INSTRUCTIONS for USE:
- On newly seeded areas: Apply using a
steel-geared rotary spreader at the rate of 10 lbs. per 1000
sq.ft. on top of seed after it has been raked into soil. Where
hydroseeding is employed, apply over top of area seeded.
- Renovation or slit seeding of existing
grass areas: If necessary, power rake area to remove thatch.
Follow by slit seeding at 1/4 to 3/8 inch planting depth into
soil. Then apply Bio-Seed Starter at 10 lbs. per 1000 sq.ft.
Note: For proper germination of seed,
follow a good watering routine. To de-toxify the soil, it is
suggested that TURF MANAGER is applied at the rate of 8 ounces per
1000 sq.ft. in 5 gallons of water as a carrier in conjunction with
the use of Bio-Seed Starter. AVOID seeding areas that have been
treated with pre-emergent crab grass herbicides for at least four
months.
